LE CRIN
Woven, horsehair offers both delicate vitality and remarkable strength, two qualities that appeal to many interior design influencers from diverse backgrounds.
Only one workshop in the world still weaves horsehair by hand with a rare know-how. It takes infinite patience, as well as precise and confident gestures acquired during long months of apprenticeship, to create unique weavings strand by strand. The technique demands such attention to detail that only a few meters are woven per day.
It is not for nothing that Le Crin, the Challes workshop in the Sarthe region of France, is heir to a patent registered in 1787. Endowed with the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant label, Le Crin is a veritable conservatory. Combined with linen, wool, sisal or metallic yarns, horsehair can be used to create patterns, light effects and sometimes bold shades. Exceptional decorative elements that harmoniously complement the Métaphores collections, horsehair-based fabrics open up new horizons.
